About CQG QTrader

CQG QTrader is CQG’s platform for serious, active futures traders. It consolidates analytics, charts, and several trade execution interfaces into one comprehensive solution, and it carries many of the same features found in CQG Integrated Client — the flagship product CQG built for its largest institutional clients.

CQG has been building trading technology for more than thirty years. The company started in 1980 writing chart software for commodity traders, and the data quality, charting, and execution that came out of those decades are why CQG is the backbone behind so many FCM trading environments. QTrader puts that engine in front of you in a single workspace.

One nice touch: QTrader customers can add CQG Mobile at no additional charge. Sign in with the same CQG Trading ID and you get quotes, analytics, and trading on your phone, with your account information carried across.

CQG QTrader platform - DOMTrader, Quote Spreadsheet, and order management

CQG QTrader at Discount Trading

We have routed CQG orders since the early days of electronic futures trading. QTrader is one of several CQG platforms we support, alongside CQG Desktop, CQG One, and CQG Integrated Client. If you are not sure which one fits your trading, we will walk through it with you and set up the routing.

QTrader is the right call when you want the depth of the flagship CQG product without the full Integrated Client price tag — advanced charts, multiple execution tools, server-side order management, and the Spreadsheet Trader, all in one place.

Highlights of CQG QTrader

Eight features that define what you get with CQG QTrader.

🎯

DOMTrader

Professional order-entry ladder showing the inside market and resting size at every price level. Click to trade with full market transparency.

SnapTrader

One-click trading interface designed to save screen space while keeping execution fast. Built for traders who want speed without a sprawling layout.

🧮

Spreadsheet Trader

Track and trade an extensive collection of markets in a customizable spreadsheet using your favorite studies, conditions, and alerts.

📋

Order Desk

Comprehensive desk-trader tool that attaches to any application — a quote board or a chart — so you can manage orders from wherever you are watching the market.

📱

CQG Mobile Included

Add CQG Mobile at no additional cost for quotes, analytics, and trading on the go. Same login, same account, on your phone.

Server-Side Aggregation

Automated, ultra-low-latency management of orders in aggregated markets, run at CQG’s co-located gateways rather than on your machine.

📐

100+ Studies

More than one hundred built-in studies and statistical functions, plus custom formulas if you want to build your own indicators.

Charts and Analytics

Charting is what CQG has always been known for. The company started building chart software for commodity traders in 1980, and four decades later the chart engine is still the part the rest of the industry measures itself against. QTrader ships with the full CQG chart type and study library.

The standout chart type is TFlow. Each bar is color-coded based on the percentage of volume that traded at the bid versus the ask, so you can read aggressor behavior bar by bar. Beyond TFlow, you get candlestick, bar, line, and a range of time- and volume-based chart types.

The study library runs past one hundred indicators — moving averages, regression channels, Bollinger Bands, volume profile, market profile, point and figure — plus CQG’s formula language if you want to build custom studies, conditions, and alerts.

Trade Execution Interfaces

QTrader’s strength is that it gives you several ways to get an order into the market, each suited to a different style. You are not locked into one order ticket.

Order Types and Algos

QTrader supports the full set of order types: market, limit, stop, stop limit, iceberg, trailing, DOM-triggered, and algorithmic orders. That covers everything from a simple market order to a resting iceberg that hides your full size.

For traders who want algorithmic execution without writing code, CQG has integrated partner algo strategies directly into QTrader. Pair those with CQG’s execution analytics, including TCA reports, to test strategies and measure performance.

Monitoring, Alerts & Excel

Beyond charts and order entry, QTrader gives you tools to watch a lot of markets at once, get told the moment something happens, and pull live data straight into your own spreadsheets.

CQG QTrader vs CQG Integrated Client

CQG Integrated Client (IC) is the full institutional flagship — the deepest customization, the broadest API access, and the most configuration options CQG offers. QTrader is the professional trader’s version: it carries many of the same features in a more streamlined package at a lower monthly cost.

For the large majority of active futures traders, QTrader has everything you actually use day to day — the charts, the execution interfaces, server-side order management, the Spreadsheet Trader, and the study library. IC makes sense when you need the full institutional toolset or specific API integrations. We can help you decide which fits.

Pricing

CQG QTrader is a monthly platform subscription, typically around $40 per month. Exchange market data subscriptions are separate and charged by the exchanges directly (CME, ICE, EUREX, and so on), as are per-trade transaction fees.

CQG Mobile is included with QTrader at no additional cost. Pricing reflects CQG’s published rates and is subject to change — we can walk through what your total monthly cost would look like for the contracts you actually trade.
