Footprint Charts — See Inside Every Candle

The footprint chart is the cornerstone of ATAS. Unlike traditional candlestick charts that only show open, high, low, and close — footprint charts reveal the actual buying and selling volume at every single price level within each bar. This lets you see exactly where aggressive buyers and sellers are active, where imbalances exist, and where large players are taking positions.

ATAS offers over 400 footprint chart display variants, including:

Market Profile & TPO

ATAS includes full Market Profile and TPO (Time, Price, Opportunity) charting. TPO shows how long price traded at each level during a session, displayed as letters or color blocks, while the volume profile shows how much actually traded at each price. ATAS automatically marks the Point of Control and Value Area, and supports fixed, anchored, session, and ZigZag profile types so you can frame value the way you trade.

Smart Tape — Read the Tape Like a Pro

The ATAS Smart Tape reconstructs the true order flow the way professional tape readers did before markets became fully electronic. Most modern platforms break up large orders into dozens or hundreds of individual prints — making it nearly impossible to see the full size of what a major player is doing. ATAS aggregates these prints back together so you can see the actual market orders at their true scale.

Smart Tape features include custom filters by trade size, so you can focus only on the activity that matters for your strategy. Combined with the Big Trades indicator — which highlights unusually large aggressive trades against the general flow — Smart Tape gives you a real-time view of where institutional-sized activity is occurring.

Market Replay & Simulator

ATAS is a Windows-based platform. To run it effectively, especially with multiple footprint charts and real-time order flow data, here are the recommended specifications:

• Operating System: Windows 10 or later for the classic ATAS platform. ATAS X — the fully rebuilt next-generation version — now supports both Windows and macOS natively (currently in Beta as of April 2026)
• Processor: Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 minimum — faster processors recommended for high-volume sessions
• RAM: 8 GB minimum — 16 GB or more recommended for running multiple charts and timeframes simultaneously
• Graphics: DirectX 11 and OpenGL 4.0 compatible with at least 4 GB video memory
• Internet: 100 Mbps or faster recommended for real-time order flow data
