Disclaimer: This third-party trading platform demo is designed as an introduction to the platform and its functionality. It is not intended to mimic trading results in a live trading environment. In an actual live trading environment, commissions and fees would be applied at the close of every business day, and an account statement would be generated. Daily statements and the associated fees are not applied within the demo environment and as such, those fees, which may have a material impact on your account, are not reflected in final profit and loss calculations within this demo. Other factors such as latency fill price and execution times may also differ from live trading results. It is not intended for this demo to be an accurate representation of actual profits or losses that may occur in a live trading environment. These 3rd party platforms generally supply the user with real-time market data, however that can change at any time and without notice. This data should not be considered an adequate approximation of the trading results or experience that may occur in a live-trading environment.

Kagi Charts are a type of chart composed of vertical lines (green for up and red for down) and small horizontal lines connecting them. Similar to Renko Charts, Kagi Charts do not factor in time. Time intervals are completely set aside as Kagi Charts only take price action into consideration. The premise of Kagi Charts is fairly simple. Essentially, from the starting point (usually the first closing price) lines are drawn solely based on price action. The "Up" Lines (also called the yang line) are formed during uptrends, while "Down" Lines (yin lines) are formed during downtrends. TradingView Kagi Charts use absolute values to determine line reversals. A price movement in the direction opposite of the current line, that exceeds the user defined reversal value, will cause a horizontal shoulder or waist to form along with a new line. The upside to using absolute values is that it is very straightforward and it is easy to anticipate when and where new lines will form. The downside is that selecting the correct reversal value for a specific instrument will take some experimentation.
Point and Figure Charts are a chart type that relies solely on price movements and not time intervals during the creation of the chart. In this way, Point and Figure Charts are similar to Renko, Kagi and Line Break Charts. Point and Figure Charts are comprised of a series of columns made from either X's or O's. X columns represent rising prices, while O columns denote falling prices. Point and Figure Charts were originally popular in the early 1900's before the prominence of computer based charting. They were a way for technical analysts to chart large amounts of data in a short period of time. Point and Figure Charts are once again gaining in popularity. Overall, there is a renewed interest in "noise filtering" charts which focus on price movements alone.
TradingView has the capability to trade directly from charts. Many people have asked for this ability, and we have incorporated this into the trading platform. Now you don’t need to leave the charting screen to place a trade.
Over one hundred pre-built studies for an in-depth market analysis, covering the most popular trading concepts and indicators. Pine programming language technology greatly expands the use of the trading program. Pine script allows you to create and share your custom studies and signals. An advantage of Pine script is that any study's code can easily be modified by anyone. Nearly any custom indicator can also be easily created from scratch.
TradingView is an officially certified CQG partner. We use a specialized WebAPI to transfer your orders and don’t store your trading account credentials. If you select TradingView as your platform, DiscountTrading will help you configure your login credentials for live trading.
Pine Script, which allows users to create customized studies and signals and run them on TradingView’s servers. Pine was designed as a lightweight language focused developing indicators. All pre-built indicators have been coded in Pine. It's our explicit goal to keep it accessible and easy to understand. Pine is cloud-based and therefore different in nature to client-side solutions. It is not TradingViews’s goal to have a language with high-end coding capabilities for building very complex tools. Pine cannot be compared to a full-blown programming language. Improving Pine further and making it more powerful is our goal for the future.
Because each study uses computational resources in the cloud, we have put limits on certain aspects of Pine in order to share these resources fairly among our users. We need to ensure the platform keeps running smoothly and no-one is negatively affected by scripts that might otherwise consume a disproportionate amount of power. The Pine syntax and semantics are kept simple so it can handle common tasks efficiently.
